Gaea Gardiner, age 19.

Gaea is more-or-less a normal college sophomore, or at least on the surface. Underneath, Gaea is the outsider, the one who spends her time alone and wants nothing to do with other people. She comes from a broken family - her father left her mother and two sisters when the youngest was just a baby - and would prefer not to remember the days of her childhood. She's simple-minded, down-to-Earth, and relatively humble, though her older sister also says she's bitter. She's mature and level-headed, though, and also a creature of habit, which is why the sudden appearences of Gabriel Engel and Therese diSuccibi throws her for a loop. As the story opens, her mother has just passed away, and Gaea - after a two week break to get the funeral arrangements and things at home settled - is preparing to return to college.

Fauna Gardiner, age 24.

She's cynical. She's scarcastic. She's realitively rude. A freelance journalist who grew up trying to raise her two younger sisters on behalf of their mother, Fauna has become the family's practical joker, keeping the other two in line through her offbeat sense of humor. When she's not being a total joker, Fauna is a mature, motherly induvidual who just wants her sisters to be happy and will go to any extents to make it that way....even if that means she's going to have to go the extra mile to get them there.

Flora Gardiner, age 16.

If Gaea is down-to-Earth and humble, Flora is probably the exact opposite. A junior in high school, Flora is everything that a high school girl is expected to be - social, boy-crazy, and obsessed with her clothes. A small child when their father left, Flora grew up being coddled by both the girls' mother and Fauna, leaving her to act very spoiled and full of herself. She has no sense of responsibilty or maturity, which is why her oldest sister's constant pranks - especially those aimed in her direction - tend to send her screaming.

Angel Gabriel, age unknown.
(Also known as: Dr. Gabriel Engel)

Gabriel is God's right-hand angel, if any angel can be called that. Young, moody, and often lazy, Gabriel is fairly disinterested in the world around him, and is especially disinterested in the world of humans. God tends to force him to do a lot of things against his will, leaving Gabe to be the most reluctant of the angels. Will stop at nothing to get out of his work, even if that means twisting other peoples' arms...or legs...or other vital body parts. As the story opens, Gabriel has been sent out of Heaven to find a girl named Gaea Gardiner and train her as her mother had been trained, years before.

Succubus Therese, age unknown.
(Also known as: Ms. Therese diSuccibi)

A mysterious young succubus without much known about her, Therese hates everything. She hates God, she hates good, she hates Gaea and she hates the mission she's been sent out on. Intolerant and unnessecarily cold, the only person she really gets along with is her partner in crime, Cecile. Respects "The Boss" for His infinate evil and wisdom, but doesn't seem to want to get to know him any better. As the story opens, she's been sent out to collect Gaea before Gabriel does at any and all costs.

Angel Michael, age unknown.

The ambassador to the human world, Michael is the oldest and probably the most powerful of the angels. He's the typical "do-gooder" angel, always willing to go out of his way to help others before himself. The guardian and trainer of Wiese Gardiner, he wants nothing to do with the other Gardiner girls for "personal" reasons, much to Gabriel's annoyance.

Succubus Cecile, age unknown.
(Also known as: Celice Succub)

Outwardly, Cecile is the cutest girl that the world could concieve. She loves pretty things - dresses, flowers, clothes, and boys. She comes across as a naive, clueless girl. But inwardly, she is truly evil and, like Therese, will stop at nothing to complete their mission at any costs. She, however, is tolerant of the angels and other do-gooders and actually really likes most people.

Frances "Fran" Timbers, age 19.

Cynical, dark, depressing, and endowed with an extremely dry form of humor, Fran is one of Gaea Gardiner's two closest friends. She considers herself "punk" and alternative, but at the same time tends to look down upon labels and subcultures. She's always running around making sarcastic comments and poking fun at the world around her. But at the same time, she's a tried-and-true friend. Her one true hate, however, is when people call her by her full name - Frances.
Carla Mason, age 18.

A college freshman who hangs with sophomores, Carla met her two best friends when she was paired with Fran in the roommate draw. An above-average student with a rather average personality, Carla sticks by her friends no matter what happens, even if that means having to deal with Fran's social commentary and Gaea's closed-off ways.
